Library and Digital Technologies
Program Information
This program enhances students’ knowledge and skills related to technological change and how digital technologies are transforming libraries and their services. Students develop the skills and digital competencies needed to explore the opportunities and potential impact of current and emerging technologies on their organization. Through active learning and culminating activities and capstone projects, students gain conceptual insight and practical leadership strategies for addressing issues related to digital technologies in library and information environments. The pace of technological change in libraries creates challenges for Library Technicians. This program will focus on current and emerging technologies affecting their workplaces and impacting the collections and services they offer. Students will develop 21st-century fluency skills essential for active participation in libraries of all types. The certificate meets the need for ongoing professional development in this area, and provides a pathway for college and university graduates to broaden their learning.
Credentials Ontario College Graduate Certificate
Residency Students must complete a minimum number of credits in this program with their registering college to meet the Program Residency requirement to graduate from the program.
Completion All courses must be completed within 5 years of acceptance into the program.
