Ally

OntarioLearn is introducing Ally, an accessibility tool integrated into online courses to provide flexible and personalized access to course materials. This tool
enhances student learning through:

  • Multiple alternative formats: Ally allows students to download course content in various formats such as audio (MP3), HTML for mobile devices, ePub for e-readers and tablets, electronic Braille, tagged PDFs for screen readers, immersive reader features, BeeLine Reader for improved reading speed, and translated versions.

  • Personalized and flexible learning: The tool supports different learning preferences including auditory and visual learning and helps manage challenges like eye strain. It enables offline access and adapts materials automatically to laptops, tablets, or smartphones without requiring extra steps from students.

  • Inclusive support for all students: Although especially beneficial for students with disabilities or accommodations, Ally improves the learning experience for everyone by offering accessible and flexible study options that fit diverse schedules and needs.

Check out the Ally Guide for Students for more details. Click here for the “How to” guide to access the Alternative Formats.
