Course Information
Using Storyline to Create E-Learning Modules is a 14-week, online, competency-based course that guides learners through the process of designing and developing effective, accessible, and engaging eLearning experiences using Storyline 360. The course integrates foundational skills, advanced interactive techniques, and key instructional design principles to support the creation of complete eLearning modules. Learners will build essential skills, including working with timelines, states, layers, triggers, and basic content design, while applying Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) guidelines. As the course progresses, learners will develop more advanced skills by creating interactive elements such as quizzes, motion paths, media integrations, and gamified activities. Learners will apply instructional design concepts to create a short eLearning course, including developing learner profiles, measurable learning outcomes, and a storyboard, and implementing their course within a Learning Management System. This course is ideal for Human Resources, training, and educational professionals seeking to build or enhance their eLearning design and development skills using industry-standard tools. Please Note: This course requires learners to own a copy of Articulate 360 software. Articulate 360 is a Windows-based product.

Computer Software Requirements:
All learners should have basic computer skills. Working knowledge of common productivity and presentation software such as MS PowerPoint and Word is considered an asset. Students will need access to Articulate Storyline 360, other elearning authoring software, powerpoint, or equivalent. Articulate 360 is currently available as a yearly subscription, and Articulate generally offers a free trial for new users. The length of the free-trial offered by Articulate may change in the future, and we make no guarantees that this trial will always be available. As of the date this outline was approved, the trial is 14 days. Learners should not sign up for their free trial until they are ready to begin their coursework. Note: If you have previously had a free trial with the same email address, you may not be eligible. In addition to course authoring software, learners must also have access to: Operating systems: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit preferred) , Mac OS is NOT recommended unless you are a pro user with an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 Pro or newer) -Note, Mac users will also require Parallels Desktop 16.5+ or VMware Fusion 13+ at an additional cost. Internet Browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge (all latest versions). The cost to purchase a full year personal subscription is $1449 USD (Approximately, $2030 CND). There are optional credits to use cetain AI tools such as Video Avatars. These credits are not required in order to complete the course.
