PSW Care Principles and Practice I

Course Information

Care Principles and Practice I provides the learner opportunities to apply classroom learning and laboratory skills in a supervised long-term care placement. Study will include theoretical concepts and basic care skills that maintain and promote health and wellness. There are 48 hours of theory and lab practice, and 80 hours of clinical placement. Successful completion of this course requires a student to achieve a satisfactory grade in all three of the following components: written knowledge evaluation, video demonstrations, and long-term care practicum.
