Course Information
Broaden your educational experience to include the varied services of various types of libraries in a different type of library than your first placement. Supervised experience in libraries is essential in the development of library skills. Students should work with program staff at their registering college to meet Mohawk Colleges Field Work Guidelines for Library and Information Technician Students. Field Work 1 (MO-WORKLT290), Library Programming, Marketing and Advocacy (MO-LIBR10040), Acquisitions (MO-LIBRLT350), Serials (MO-LIBRLT351), Library Classification (MO-LIBR10039), Resource Description and Access 2 (MO-LIBR10043) and Reference Processes (MO-LIBR10044). It is recommended students complete Indexing and Subject Analysis (MO-LIBR10038) prior to or concurrently with placement.
