Diversity Informed Practices
Course Information
In this course, students will examine various therapeutic and treatment approaches for working with equity deserving groups within the helping profession. With a special emphasis on supportive counselling, students will examine some of the barriers faced by equity-deserving groups when accessing mental health and addiction services, explore personal, cultural, and systemic biases, and how to provide more culturally competent and person-centered care.
