Caring for Children and Youth
Course Information
This course aims to deepen your knowledge of children and youth with the goal of increasing your competence, confidence and skills as a caregiver. There are situations and times where a child or youth requires more support than would be expected. Caregivers ensure that children and youth are healthy and safe, help to equip them with important skills and provide critical support and respite to families and parents. This course will explore child development, attachment, behaviour and self-regulation. It will also focus on foundational knowledge, including common conditions, working with families, and abuse and neglect.
