Caring for Adults and Older Adults
Course Information
This course aims to deepen your knowledge of adults and older adults with the goal of increasing your competence, confidence and skills as a caregiver. There are situations and times where an adult requires more support than would be expected. Caregivers can be supporting an older adult throughout the aging process, or an adult who has found themselves with a sudden, unexpected disability. This course will explore the benefits of recreation and leisure and adaptive equipment. It will explore common trends and safety concerns for both the client and caregiver. It will also focus on foundational knowledge, including the aging process, sudden disabilities, grief and psychosocial issues.
